MATERIALS DONATION POLICY​

Even though the library is closed for renovations from December 29, 2025 to late April 2026, the Friends is still collecting donations off-site. 

Please contact the Friends to make an appointment by emailing: [email protected] ​
DO NOT place items in book return bins or leave them outside library doors. ​
NOTE: All donations must be in excellent shape to either go in the library's collection or be sold at our Book Sales.   

A good question to ask is: ​​Would I buy this again for $2 in its condition?  ​If the answer is NO, then we don't want it.​
We accept new or gently used:
  • BOOKS IN GOOD CONDITION -            paperbacks & hardcovers
  • ALL topics/all genres, fiction/nonfiction
  • Art books/coffee table books
  • Children's books
  • Comic books in good condition
  • Music CDs
  • DVDs
  • Audiobooks on CD ONLY
  • ​Puzzles/Games​ that have all the pieces
Things We CANNOT accept:
  • ​BOOKS that are torn or have wear & tear on the outside or inside or have been marked up inside or missing their original cover jacket or pages​
  • Advanced Reader's Copy books
  • Old Media - computer software/VHS/cassette tapes/copied or incomplete media/ "For Your Consideration" DVDs
  • ​​Magazines/Dictionaries/Encyclopedias
  • Former public or school library books ​
If you itemize deductions, your donation may be tax deductible. The Friends can provide a receipt, but it will be up to you to determine the value of your donation.
The money raised by book sales supports programming, purchases equipment and materials not included in the library’s budget, and maintains the Friends operating costs.
